Got a question about road laws? Quiz A Cop for the answer
"Can I legally take my dog for a walk while riding a bike?" "Do I have to carry my licence when driving?"
Using the road safely is a responsibility everyone shares and it is only with everyone's cooperation that we can reach for zero deaths and serious injuries. One of the integral ways we can do this is by abiding by road safety rules and legislation. These rules, including those referred to in the list below, are in place to ensure everyone can have a safe journey.
Every day the Victoria Police Facebook page is inundated by people asking questions about law enforcement. While Victoria Police do their best to get back to these questions when they can, the trend inspired them to collate and answer some of the most common questions in a weekly segment last year. It wasn't long before hundreds of submissions were coming in to be answered by the Quiz A Cop channel. Questions ranged across various areas of the law and helped dispel common policing myths. The most frequently asked about area of the law was road policing.
While the segment no longer runs, we've pulled together many of the Quiz A Cop answers on road policing for Towards Zero below, as answered by different members of Highway Patrol.
