Police out in force in country Victoria

The TAC and Victoria Police are joining forces in the lead up to Christmas to ensure every Victorian returns home safely to their loved ones.

Tragically, to August this year, 28 more lives have been lost than the same time in 2015 and this is why there will be more police out in force on country roads enforcing speed, impairment and distraction.

Holiday periods are traditionally a high-risk time on our roads which is why we're asking you to slow down, plan ahead and remain vigilant - no family should have to receive a knock at the door from the police with the news that they’ve lost a loved one. The effects of road trauma are devastating on families and communities and while police will be doing their utmost to protect Victorians and work Towards Zero deaths and serious injuries.

Road safety is everyone’s responsibility and we all have a role to play.
